Staff Classification and Compensation

Overview

At IANR our goal is to hire and retain the best talent possible. We aim to accurately define the responsibilities of each position so that we can strive to compensate employees at competitive, fair and equitable wages.

What We Do

IANR Human Resources provides consultation to IANR managers and leaders, guides them through staff classification and compensation issues, and provides support to departmental HR staff. Our goal is to understand the operational needs of the unit and find solutions using the most equitable and efficient options available. 

Staff Classification

System/structure in which jobs are grouped together based on similarities in duties and the skills and knowledge needed.

  • Work with managers to edit existing or create
  • Proactively help units determine strategies when workforce planning and restructuring will impact staff positions and classifications
  • Maintain IANR staff classification structure
  • Support the job description module of the HRIS 

Staff Compensation

Process of ensuring fair and equitable compensation for across all IANR staff positions.

  • Review staff compensation requests including temporary and permanent pay increases
  • Provide compensation guidance to managers
  • Provide compensation analysis for individual positions or groups
